KDP have circulated an email relating to books listed in the Japan store on Amazon.

From 21st April the Japan store will launch standard colour printing.

KDP are recommending that anyone with Japan selected as a market review their book listing (via the KDP dashboard) and review their list price.

Standard colour printing costs will be

• Regular trim size: 206 JPY per book + 3.50 JPY per page

• Large trim size: 206 JPY per book + 4.50 JPY per page

As a result the exact Royalty % is likely to change and if you do nothing, they will automatically change it.

Note: If you set up your paperback with a right-to-left (RTL) reading direction, standard colour paperback distribution is limited to Amazon.co.jp.
